Sindh Introduces New Grading System for Matric, Inter Exams
The Sindh government has introduced a new grading system for matric and intermediate students, replacing the traditional numeric system with letter grades. In this system, the board has added a new category called “Exceptional” for those who score 95% or above, and the “F” (Fail) grade has been replaced with “U” (Unsatisfactory) for students scoring below 40%.
This new system will be implemented in 2025 and aims to evaluate students’ performance better. It was developed by the Inter Board Coordination Committee (IBCC) and has been notified not only by the Sindh Board but also by the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) and the Balochistan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), which are considering using it in the annual 2025 exams.
